About MichelleMichelle's career has included senior management positions such as General Manager in the Transport Sector, Business Manager in the Church, Finance Manager and CEO in the Association Sector. As CEO for IAP2, an association working with professionals around Australia and New Zealand, Michelle's eyes were opened to the challenges that decision makers and senior leaders face in regional areas to find support for personal and professional development.
In 2005 Michelle moved with her family to Wollongong to take a management role with a Church and their not-for-profit outreach programs. With a focus on Governance and Structure, Michelle was able to build on the foundations of this church to ensure it had the capital for building growth into the future, with sound processes in place for best practice financial management.
Today, Michelle is a Director on Local Government Super where she is Chair of the Risk Committee and Member Services Committee and a member of the Audit Committee. With Funds under Management of $10bn and more than 90,000 members, Michelle understands the importance of financial freedom throughout life. Michelle is also Chairman of the Top Blokes Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation focussed on building the lives of young men around Australia. And in 2011 Michelle was elected a Councillor on Wollongong City Council. This role has given her unique insights into running a city with its many complexities including planning, infrastructure, community services, finance and balancing governance with politics.
Michelle and Martin have been married for 27 years and are actively involved at Hillsong Church. With their children, Anna 16 and Joel 13, they will be serving with the leadership to launch Hillsong Wollongong in 2017.
