But why does God bless us? Sure, because he loves us! but also because he wants us to advance his kingdom. Here is an amazing verse:
“And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”
2 Corinthians 9:8 (NIV)
Notice a couple of things:
➢ ‘ALL’ is mentioned three times. You will have all that you need, all of the time through all things.
➢ God provides an ‘abundance’. It doesn’t say he gives us just enough to scrape on by and just survive, it says he will give us more than enough.
➢ But why does he give us more than an enough? Because he wants to firstly meet our needs and then ensure that we have a surplus so that we can ‘abound’ in good works and deeds. The word abound means to ‘overflow’. God blesses you so that you will be able to overflow in good works!
