Today’s article is only a short one, but I want to inspire you with God’s word.
The Alternative to Debt – God’s Provision!
Sadly, one of the main reasons Christians borrow money is that they fail to understand that we serve a God of abundance, a God of provision, a God who knows what we need and who is able to supply this to accomplish his plans for our life.
Consider the following passages from both the Old and New Testaments:
“The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.”
“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”
“And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”
2 Corinthians 9:8
In other words, if God has a plan for your life (which he does) and that plan requires financing, then God will find away. That is not to say we don’t take responsibility for our money management, it is merely to say that God is the source of all provision.
